Unfairness of AHDB Levies

When we sell fat stock, we all pay the same AHDB levy, whether or not we are Farm Assured.

The levy is supposed to cover promotion costs, yet almost all promotions by all the Meat Bodies concentrate on meat from Assured Farms, and discriminate against meat from non-assured farms.

Can anyone justify why this is allowed to happen?

We are reluctant members of this protection racket which goes under the guise of Red Tractor etc, , but there is no doubt that livestock on many non-assured farms are looked after far better than stock on some of the shitholes that are farm assured.

It's quite unbelievable this situation has been allowed to happen,AHDB helping to penalise their levy payers who aren't part of the racket.AHDB are fully aware of this situation and have been for months yet they do nothing apart from removing the monies paid to this private company.
The little, cosy club of RT,AHDB,AIC and the NFU needs disassembling now.The amount of money they, altogether, take off farmers is mind blowing.

Maybe AHDB should now do something to promote non-RT produce. Would even things out a bit.
