Hi,
Was wondering what the cost of uniform agri was and how quick it was to get installed ready for use? We have crystal at the moment but getting fed up!

Many thanks

It depends on how many cows you have and what extras you want. ( talk to parlour software, Apps on your phones, etc)
Good management tool and well worth the money
Best phone them up and ask. They are running workshops at the moment if there is one near you phone up and ask to go along.

I've just installed it today through NMR. For 500 cows it's £45/month.

Thanks, weve got 340 in milk but were looking to expand to 500 so ive been quoted £33+vat plus another £10 to talk to crystal software this is for 400 cows. Would i have to pay more when we expand then? Also how long did it take from ordering to get it set up and ready to use. Did someone come out or did they just send you the software for you to install?

Most of it will be installed over the internet and they use Team Viewer to sort out any problems on your system from their office. If your PC is already connected to the parlour I am sure it will be all done with team viewer.

By a long way the uniform support is the best of any software company I use. Everything is done online using team viewer. So it’s very quick once ordered. I think my initial software came on a usb. It did take a couple of goes to get the parlour talking to uniform correctly (GEA). Now it works with no problem. We don’t have the app only because of my technophobe brother who would use it more than me. I do have it linked from the dairy office to the pc in my office which means I don’t have to go out at night when I am doing the passports.

Uniform is pennies per cow and money well spent.

You can choose whether to have uniform direct or through nmr.
Direct is more expensive up front.

I run uniform to keep records and only use nmr to provide essential sampling to provide bf prot and cell count. Yields come directly from parlour.

Not sure what full nmr adds unless your pedigree.

Have you just got one breed of calves to come now.

You could batch serve all uncalved cows to that sire then youd be away.

I have no experience of nmrs help but would be suprised if its as good as uniform direct.

Bcms link with uniform is so much easier than cts online.

I think until you have service data on uniform you will have to enter the breed for each calf as you go. I it’s easy just go to the calf and press edit. Think the breed is under the pedigree tab.

If you herd record I am fairly sure you can import the service data from the NMR Cis etc.

As above phone Uniform they are very helpful

Are you doing it on the app or pc? On the pc it's in daily tasks, adding a calving, for the calf it asks for sex, if it's in the herd, then I think it's the next drop down box, before tag number.

Spp alows you to compare all cows to a standard lactation curve.

If a 5th lactation cow peaks at 40 litres and follows a standard decline then her spp will be 40 throughout her entire lactation.

If a heifer peaks at 30 litres that could also give a spp of 40 to compensate for her age.

If your spp drops during lactation theoretically they are falling off milk faster than they should.

If it rises they were potentially held back in early lactation.

If your feb calving heifers have a lower spp than cows then they are not settling into herd well bullying or space perhaps.
