Evening guys,

After a Universal 640 dtc. Hours not important - condition is. Has to be very good original condition. Not so bothered about location for the right one.

Anyone know of one or got one?

I should of updated this, found a 445DT - still on the hunt for a 640 though.

It'll keep our 445 2wd company in the sheds.

We sold a Krone muckspreader to some people in Serbia last month. When they came to collect we brought muckspreader out with our Universal 445.

They were asking if it was for sale and apparently they valued it around £3,500 - £4,000 in Serbia. Obviously not worth that here

The early445 without a cab was a nice tractor with the fiat bonnet.there was a 550 which a neighbour had, noisy horrible yoke with a white duncan cab. leaking oil everywhere.
In 1973 dad was buying a small tractor .he bought a 4 year old mf135 for £850. He could have got a new universal for the same money. He chose well as years later nobody wanted a universal and the massey sold for more that he paid

I think quality control in the factory must have been poor.
A neighbour bought an early round nose model 445 with a Duncan cab. It punched well above its weight , doing jobs it should never have been asked to do . They came across a 1980 550 sh in a garage around 1984. it nearly broke their heart. It was replaced by a new Zetor 8111Celebration in late 1986. Which had 40% off at the time. It stayed for 20 + years , and was used to drive a double chop .

We bought our 445 2wd new in 1976. As a farm runabout / bit of everything. Its been a brilliant little tractor which other than servicing has needed nothing.

Its uses very little diesel and requires hardly any battery life to start it.

Compared to our 65 Ford 3000 (which is similar HP / size) the Universal will get taken everytime.
