Hi all,
My name is Lucy and I am currently in my last year at the University of Birmingham studying Geography. For my final year dissertation, I will be looking to research the potential changes within livestock farming practises following Brexit, with particular focus on how animal welfare standards may change within the meat industry. For my research study, I will be interviewing livestock farmers (as well as other stakeholders) to gain insight into how their farming practises have or will change following Brexit especially in regard to how welfare standards will possibly change following the removal of the Common Agricultural Policy where standards are no longer set solely by the EU.
I am posting to see if there are any livestock farmers who may be willing to participate in my research study through the means of interviews. The interview will be around 15-20 minutes (although this is highly flexible allowing for further discussion aside from the questions if the interviewee is willing or has more to discuss on the topic) and can take place over the phone or on zoom - whatever suits the participants best! I am really interested in hearing the voices and perspectives of farmers who are affected by such changes and how your practices may suffer/benefit/generally change following Brexit.
I can assure that in the dissertation write-up all participants can be kept completely anonymous and I will be providing an electronic consent form to ensure all participants are completely aware of what they are participating in.
If being a participant in my study is of any interest, please contact me either on this forum or by email ([email protected]) where I am more than happy to provide more information on my research/answer any questions. This will be highly appreciated and valued as part of my final year dissertation!
Many thanks and Merry Christmas!
