UNLIMITED 4G Data

sorry if this should be in IT, but it affects many rural communities. I've had a 4G router or MiFi unit powering the internet. For years I have been restricted to Data allowances, but Three have just launched an unlimited package for £20 per month. I wouldn't have know if I hadn't had reason to call them up, so anyone who realise on 4G and is tied by data, get on this deal.

3 have been running "all you can eat data" for years but, like anything that is supposedly too good to be true, I would suspect that they operate a throttle if you go over a reasonable limit.

Having said that, we have been with 3 for years on a WiFi dongle on 15gb/month for £15. The other day, due to a massive download of data when transferring to a new computer system, we exceeded our allowance. On ringing them up, they have now given us 40gb/month for £14 as a "loyalty" bonus. Nice to have!

unlimited data on mobile phones but capped at 25GB for tethered data....

why pay £15 for 15GB when you can now have unlimited for £20?

But would it really be unlimited? As I say, I suspect a throttle to be applied once you exceed a certain point - say 20gb of argument. Sure, the data is unlimited but it will be slow to respond.
Also, how much do you think you actually use? We struggle to get anywhere near 15gb most months but were offered a deal for less at 40gb

So if you put the sim into a 4g router you'll be capped at 25GB?

Not such a good deal then :-(

A friend of mine is on it and they told him it was unlimited and not capped or throttled even in a router.
I’m waiting to see what happens as I’m on a poor deal (in comparison) and will change if his works out.

My tethering allowance has always been 30 gig with Three.

No. what I was saying was the old version of "all you can eat" data was capped at 25GB for tethered data, this new product Three have is for true unlimited data. As a household who have run 3 of these 100GB data cards at £30 each (so £90 per month) the introduction of one unlimited card for £20 is a good saving.
