UNLIMITED 4G Data

sorry if this should be in IT, but it affects many rural communities. I've had a 4G router or MiFi unit powering the internet. For years I have been restricted to Data allowances, but Three have just launched an unlimited package for £20 per month. I wouldn't have know if I hadn't had reason to call them up, so anyone who realise on 4G and is tied by data, get on this deal.
Thanks that's very handy to know

I have it in writing that they will not reduce data speeds and its unlimited.

Router hunt starts now. I need to be able to have the option of external antennae though and ideally be unlocked.

any thoughts?!
TP-Link TL-MR6400 300 Mbps 4G LTE SIM Slot Unlocked Wi-Fi Router, No Configuration Required, Fixed External Wi-Fi Antennas, UK Plug https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016ZWXYXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CGVBCb3FPCVD2

Had one of these but I couldn't get it work with Xbox live. Couldn't change the nat from strict. Went back to the Huawei router that came from 3 with an external aerial. Only problem with the Huawei is there are no wired connection from it. WiFi only

Yes a bit more than some other bits of kit but it does a whole host of things well. I've got a Wireless BB system here which is flaky but also have added a Virgin Media 4G SIM (£18/45Gb via EE network). External antenna possible as are DrayTek managed wireless access points, which make extending your network seamless. You can set it up to load-balance where you send/get your data from, so that you don't use up all your data in one go. Wireless is ok for Netflix/iPlayer so TV uses that, work laptop uses 4G for conference calls etc where latency/speed is important.

So, mine has arrived. Extensive testing walking around the village trailing an extension cable has commenced

the best I got was 23 up and 15 down, that was standing on the digger cab in the orchard with 3 bars.

what I have noticed is the bars of signal on the router make a massive difference - about 1 m lower (in the cab) and on 2 bars, I was 12.8 down and 10.4 up

if you are in an iffy area I suggest you get a router with a) a read out of signal strength and b) an external aerial designed for the job.

now I need to find one...
