Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Agriculture

Hello all,
My name is Will and I am a high school Senior (a 12th Year in Secondary) in Colorado in the United States. As part of my Senior Design engineering class, we form small groups and work together to design, build, and test a product of our choosing. My group and I have chosen a small unmanned aerial vehicle made of interchangeable parts. The modular construction allows one airframe to accomplish many missions. Part of the design process is to receive input from potential users. We have identified farmers as potential users and would be very grateful if some of you could complete a short survey we have compiled here.

Done UAV's look to have a future in this industry… I've been toying with the idea of a quad-coptor flying across our OSR fields 2/3 times a day… The sight of it would be enough to drive pigeons away...

I have often thought a small remote controlled airship would have many possibilities. Perhaps fitted with a machine gun for pigeons and other vermin.
