Sticking barbed wire on doesn't work around here. If it stops Joe public from climbing over to walk their dog it's soon cut off. My neighbour has loads of razor wire that I'd dearly like to use but unfortunately he informs that it would be illegal to do so.
A nice heap of pig sh!t along the inside of the gate tends to keep them away their MRS doesnt like the smell

Chap round these parts puts 2 or 3 full IBC`s in the gateway then runs steel cable from post to post through the cages. Seems to work & there aren`t any gates to pinch.

Full length electric poles across gateways that rarely get used have been effective here, but its been like blocking holes in a colander, they find somewhere else to leak in. If they wanted to make a lot of noise and take a bit of time to get in then a chainsaw would deal with them, but then a cordless grinder and hiab on a van could deal with most barriers. If it comes to that then winding a load of barbed around the poles should give them a bit more hassle.
