@bandit i take it you have no experience of updating systems.... It will take them more than 5 mins. Also if you dont want to pay, then do it yourself.... Would you plough my garden for free? it will only take you 5 mins
So you have experience? I'd think obviously not in this case! [emoji848]‍♂️

Five minutes is not reasonable but would it take more than 30 minutes for you? Would you be willing to pay £140 per hour for the farmer ploughing your garden, plus the compensation for the tractor and plough? Your street would have a long queue of farmers willing to do it.

There is also a difference if the need to plough the garden is not caused by the farmer or the products the farmer is selling. The GNSS equipment were sold to the farmer without any note that it would randomly need some service at £140 per hour to fix SW bugs. Free support is not necessarily reasonable but the sales/service should neither make profit from fixing the SW bugs on their products.

How much does it cost to take your car for a service? Why is it a race to the bottom? Everyone on here says how a good GPS man is worth their weight in gold... yet very few are happy to pay for it?

Not everyone, I don't. If the product is good (including the user manual), no support is needed. Didn't you only sell good products before you changed business?

I did not say support should be free, even in the case where SW bugs force the owner to use support. I just said the cost should not be that expensive, the professional expertise is not really different from that needed from a farmer, shouldn't both earn about the same per hour?

I’ve performed approx 500-600 software updates on a mix of Trimble and Topcon. Guess I must have been rubbish as it always took longer than 5 mins! Good job I’ve changed jobs now! The GPS world is safe once again ;)
I'm not doubting your ability! But in this case the proof is in YouTube that it takes under 5 mins

Sigh. I attempted to update my dad ez250 today and now it's just sitting there switching itself on and off, constantly rebooting.
I've had something similar happen! I forget how I cured problem. I do know that you need to delete memory every now and then or it stops working! Think that's what I did [emoji848]possibly a factory reset but you then have to do a complete start from the beginning with all measurements

What is this port called trimble 250. I registered with trimble but when I sign in it says I'm only a guest. Login with username. I don't have a username. I registered with my name.mobile and email address

I'm not a Trimble customer but I tried their support site and got the same response. Perhaps they want to push customers to AgOpenGPS. Shouldn't need such an effort.

You could try another website, I'll send you a link via PM (I probably got it from this forum).
