Is there another way . I was using YouTube, but can't get past the error message which is a common problem wit YouTube, has anyone got a quick fix for it . For some reason I can't load direct to the Forum

Easy to do with still photos, but how do you do it with videos?

one way is to create an account on youtube *(can use an anonymous name)and upload it to there , then bring it across to here.

I want a way to do it direct from my iPhone/iPad or Windows PC direct onto a thread.

Simple answer is you cannot upload videos direct to the forum! You have to upload to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc then attach a link. I think videos overload the Tff servers

@martian and I are only direct drilling mods because we don’t like disturbing things much and are happy to let things pan out by their own accord. Too much interference isn’t in our nature and is why we’re not given too much responsibility.

It does sound like it isn’t an easy thing to do (uploading videos from phones etc) and perhaps it is something we should ask @Clive to look into for us.
Could it be done via WhatsApp, for instance?

You will be glad to hear that I too am now a direct driller and I hope I won’t need too much moderating!
If most who know me smoked a pipe, they will have already bitten the end off it upon learning this news.

You can use GIPHY for short videos. One I got sent to me.

A Gif is a short little video, I think the framerate and resolution is doctored to keep file sizes small for forums and the like. Uploading full videos to any external site may be problematic for people on slow connections.

What you need to upload to YouTube is a free app called HandBrake and a fast internet upload speed. Or at least that's what is used on Apple computers. Check it out to see whether it has a Windows version. Then follow the instructions or tutorials on YouTube.
