URGENT FINANCIAL ADVICE REQUIRED due to Divorce

I'm not suggesting that you imagined it, but that divorce clients get to choose and instruct their own solicitors and how their cases are addressed (within reason). Your description of what happened proves the point.

Why would the gender of the solicitors make a difference?

[Walterp pauses, smirks, and mutters to himself: "Hmm. Wonder if anyone wants to hear any lady solicitor jokes?"]

I want to hear the jokes? Come on Walt spill them?

I wasn't implying that lady solicitors are any better/worse, I was countering the bit in your post where you called the solicitors "him's".

Equally I'm not trying to say how horrible solicitor are- more often then not you are mightily glad of a solicitors services, but in my parents case they were massively counter productive.

'Him' is taken to mean 'him' or 'her' but I can't be bothered to write him/her all the time. Some people say 'her' - it's the same basis, but trendier....

Anyway, the answer? It's 'the lipstick', of course.

Am I correct in thinking that there is now legislation for settlement even without a ring on finger? I'm sure I read a while back now that if 2 people have been in a cohabiting relationship for 2 or more years then they have the same or perhaps similar rights to shaft you the same as a married couple?

Apologies to the OP for being off topic

In that scenario, it is best, to keep a little black book in your pocket and record how much rent the incoming party pays each week!!!!

I have a friend that recently split with the girl he has lived with for 10 years but not married

His situation was better than if he had been married but not a lot better really !

Best I was told was a friend who got married 8 years ago in India - when they went to get divorced it turns out they were never really legally married at all ...... A result considering go the payout he was looking at !

If it floats, flys or f***s, rent it.

I really should listen to my own advice  owning a boat and a wife  at least the boat can be traded in relatively easily  the wife isn't keen on the idea of an upgrade to a younger model :scratchhead:

i put forward the idea of running two at once :playful::playful: but she was even less enamored with that idea

update. suggested routes i.e banks / amc ext not interested in short term loans or very unhelpful in my case .bridging company's quoting 1.25% per month +at least £6000 to set up!!!!! I aim to pay it back in 3/4 months

Robin bar stewards, cheaper to put it on some credit cards

If you have the means to pay it back within a few months cant you delay the payments till then, when I got divorced the judge agreed that I could pay off my ex when I had sold a few assets, as long as you are genuine the court should agree that you can delay some payment

That's what I was going to say, as long as you know you can pay it back take a trip into town 4 credit cards should do the trick, make sure you sign up one after another so all the credit checks go through.
