If you have one tag for them with the individual number I just take any spare tag aslong as it’s got your herd number on and cut the individual number bit off the bottom never been a problem

The idea if two tags is in case on get lost you can id the animal, which you can do.
Yes ideally during an inspection on farm majority, 99%?, should have 2 tags.
If an animal needs 2 tags at all time let's stick 3 in just in case it loses one.

Yer maybe but it’s never been an issue stil has individual number on or if you got one new individual replacement stick one side in each ear using the herd number one as the back for each do it with cows that have metals as old culls generally there unreadable

Ring round your farm supplies outlets. One of our local ones prints Dalton plastic tags, ring up and order then when you get there it’s done ready. Got too be plenty doing it??
