Hi all, am thinking of visiting Uruguay and Argentina at some point this winter. Would anybody know any farming contacts over there? Am interested in seeing farming systems/practices etc? Also any tips and advice appreciated. Cheers DM

I met a guy in Germany yesterday called Michael Dover who is an Argentinian farmer. Really interesting bloke running arable and livestock with a no till/conservation ag sort of system. I don’t have a contact for him but from what others said he has a great farm to look around

Any highlights of your trip such as places to see/things to do?
Ok, I took the wife because we both had significant birthdays this year. We don’t do holidays and don’t do tours.
We went to Córdoba 3 days dove shooting (for me) and then 3 days horse riding (for her), we took another couple.
Then Beanos Aires for culture and tango.
What I learnt - Norwegian airways cheapest flights, book the connecting flight early or it gets expensive, we felt totally relaxed the people are very friendly, the beef is great, the red wine excellent, they love the dollar a bit of Spanish language may have helped but most speak English . I use trip advisor to find places. Argentina is a massive place you would need a lot of time to see it all. I hope you have as much fun as we did!
