Depends on dealer for how often they get serviced. Luckily mine isn’t too fussy but he knows I look after it and keep oil right. Generally twice a year job. Would need 2 or 3 services in lambing time if not
Totally unpractical for what we do. Gator only just gets about in the wet and it's electric fencing most days this time of year on fairly local keep, would spend more time loading something up than it takes me to drive there, usually do a number of groups on route.
Easy at lambing can jump out of it moving to catch, have a million gates to undo and can slide out in seconds.
Not yet.To put it out there, is there anything electric that's any good. Sure there not ready for daily use yet but be handy charging it up on farm. Not sure how they would cope living in mud for 5 months...
New polaris very good, my dealer said he wouldn’t sell me one and wait until the Kubota engine comes out (this was 6 months before they changed engine which came out in summer 19)Not yet.
I had a Hisun on demo in the summer but whilst the idea is good, it's also slow and is a toy in terms of size and carrying capacity.
I went for the new kubota x1110 (yes it is still limited to 25mph). Still kept the bike for road work so wasn't overly worried about speed. Its nippy enough in field. Didn't try the polaris but had heard bad reports on reliability. Maybe new 1 is good and should have tried it
Polaris electric one doesn't have a good reputation.New polaris very good, my dealer said he wouldn’t sell me one and wait until the Kubota engine comes out (this was 6 months before they changed engine which came out in summer 19)
polaris do an electric one but no idea what it’s like? hopefully Tesla make one in collaboration with polaris that does 0-40 in 3 seconds
Personally I think the whole electric job is a con as they are burning fuel/oil/coal to produce the electric to then send to the end of the country where we have ultra crap wiring anyway and quite often blackout’s to then put into an electric motor which are never really that efficient... I know a Diesel engine is only 45%? efficient but at least it’s the direct fuel sourcePolaris electric one doesn't have a good reputation.
The idea is right and it has to come, quite surprised there isn't decent ones available from most manufacturers really. Several available in the States. Can am used to make one. The concept has been around for 10 years, just needs a bit more willingness from the manufacturers
No, heard it before. the Tesla cybertruck and cyberquad will be interesting but I bet they make a cyberbuggy - you heard it here first
And plenty of farms produce their own electric.Personally I think the whole electric job is a con as they are burning fuel/oil/coal to produce the electric to then send to the end of the country where we have ultra crap wiring anyway and quite often blackout’s to then put into an electric motor which are never really that efficient... Cyberquad yes but cyberbuggy they haven’t announced yetNo, heard it before. About a year ago
How do you store the gas. Is it bottles or tank. What does the pump cost.I have a can am buggy on gas for over two years now with 15000 miles on it
Had a John Deere gator previously for 6 years.
The can am is far far superior in every way, except fuel costs and the hassle of hand pumping the lpg in.
But not alot more per year in fuel costs I did work it out iirc about £300 more per year.
Try a Polaris and you will think it's much better than a gator.
Then try a can am.......
50-60mph, lovely petrol engine. Less weight. Reliable.
Where are you going to get the canam to do 50-60mph when I had one on demo I took it along dual carriageway. On country roads I only dared take it to about 40I have a can am buggy on gas for over two years now with 15000 miles on it

Need a slight downhill for 60 but will do 50mph easy on a flat i find it fairly stable feels safer than 50mph on a quadWhere are you going to get the canam to do 50-60mph when I had one on demo I took it along dual carriageway. On country roads I only dared take it to about 40
I found the fumes were coming in the cab bad at speed with no doors. Appreciate many will have doors. Is lpg less fumey ?Need a slight downhill for 60 but will do 50mph easy on a flat i find it fairly stable feels safer than 50mph on a quad
It is loud nearer 50mph mainly due to the tyres I think
I haven't found that in mine with doors.I found the fumes were coming in the cab bad at speed with no doors. Appreciate many will have doors. Is lpg less fumey ?
