Replace like with like!

XPB are higher performance versions of SPB. They have the same basic profile, but XPB have raw edge/moulded cogs whereas SPB are wrapped/envelope style.
Would it be a bad idea to upgrade from spb to xpb on a flail topper? Could that possibly put more strain on the gearbox if the belts are designed to slip at a certain load?

No major rush, just puting things back together a free a bit of surgery, belts are still intact but showing their age, cracking and going hard.

As said above, XPB are toothed belts and are often used where smaller diameter pulleys can be found as they can go around a smaller radius. They also transmit more power than the SPB version.

I wouldn’t worry about fitting SPB if thats all they have, but order a new set of XPB to have on the shelf as a spare as they probably wont last as long as the XPB version
