Hi everyone wanting a bit of input , looking at a 5m carrier with disc, levelling board , steelrunner roller and bio drill . Would this work ok for sowing brassica , grass , clover , chicory and the like ? Just a bit worried the steel runner roller might sink those small seeds a bit deep . Cheers Jared

Can't see why not. Only concern might be discing out all you're moisture in a dry time . You could just run without the discs working if the packer is nipping it into a nice seed bed.

Thanks haybob , here where I'm farming it seems to be either too wet or too dry ! I tend to use the direct drill in the autumn whe its dryer but it doesn't seem to work well in our wetter springs so I thought the carrier might go alright

Perfect for sowing small seeds, use ours for cover crop mix and grass seeds, have sown OSR with it sometimes, usually run over once to shallow cultivate, then sow and roll. Quick cheap and easy.

If you’re worried about being too deep move the seed outlets to behind the packer roller, rolling afterwards gets seed to just the right depth.

Thanks mate , thats great advice . Have you done much with false seed beds to get the weeds to strike and then come in shallow disc and sow ?
