Vaderstad roller rubber bearing block replacements

Vaderstad EV 87 Cambridge rolls. Old ish. If you're familiar, you'll know the odd circular rubber mounting that holds the shaft end bearings. The rubber mounting fits inside (and is bonded to) a short tube / bracket that is bolted to the frame.

The rubber is perished and starting to tear. It seems like the only OEM way to replace them is to buy the whole shooting match, rubber mounting, bracket and all, bonded together and it's a fortune. And there's six of them.

Anyone had the problem and fixed it without buying what the OEM offers ? Are there any non OEM pattern parts out there ? Anyone just sell the rubbers (there's nothing wrong with the brackets) ? Anyone been creative and replaced the rubbers with something else ?

All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

We had the idea of using thoserubber buffers off the rear of a lorry ,available from Hgv motor factors etc ,and cutting to size, jamming in place then using heavy sealant,CT1 is the name on the stuff we use ,like silicon but a lot stronger.never did ours though, sold them instead.
