Hello, I was just looking for some pointers. I have a Valtra N103 which every now and then it displays a red light along with a buzzer on the dash. I think performance is limited too by the feel of it when it displays. If however you stop the engine, turn off the ignition and restart it is gone and stays off a while and performance returns. I think it appears when the tractor is working harder on the road climbing hills etc. Not usually when just pottering around the yard.
Rather than get the dealers out I phoned one of the mechanics with the displayed fault code, which isn't listed in the handbook and he texted me later on to say it was an EGR valve high temperature alarm. He said the valve is on the right side of the engine along with the cooler. He also said there are temp sensors in the exhaust which may be triggering it.
Just wondering if anyone has come across it and what would those more used to dealing with such like do first/first things to check or address?
Thanks very much H.
