has anyone got one? Really like the look of them in the cab but not seen one in the flesh we are looking for an extra tractor to take the strain off a tractor with 12000 hrs but keep the old one as a spare. Jobs would be grain/silage cart, rolling, mowing, spraying with big mounted sprayer, fert spreading, cattle hauling with 26ft box and relief feeder wagon tractor if older tractor has issues decided not to start on Sunday etc

Great tractor with loads of power , always punches above its weight.

Eh, but you don't actually own one, eh Jimmy?

Cab on the latest model vastly superior to the first 3 generations. Spacious and dramatically improved vision outside and layout inside. Very good cab and front axle suspension completes the comfort.

Engines were originally 4.4l up to 124hp, and 4.9l for the 134-174hp models. The smaller displacement is no longer sold with the introduction of the G series which replaces the lower hp models. The 4.9l has tremendous torque, and happily overcomes the lack of gear ratio overlap in the lower ranges. It is fairly vocal at full power, but while the note is also distinctive, it isn't overly loud.

Don't be fooled by marketing hype about fuel efficiency though..... These as bloody big heavy tractors (my 2nd hand N134D with quicke Q5m loader carrying an 8 foot muck grab and rear weight attached tips the scales just shy of 10 tonnes).... They are thirsty and like more than just a drop of diesel when working hard!

Hydraulic output is one of their brand strengths, options range from the standard 100l/m, 160l/min, or even 200! I've the 160l/m version, and reduce the flow rate to 100l/m for front loader work. They are particularly well designed for a loader, with a narrow bonnet and excellent vision. They have a very good turning circle, making them surprisingly nimble for such a big tractor.

Gearbox options are 4 range, 5 powershift for the fixed ratio, or 4 range hydrostatic drive in the "direct" Vario version. Gearbox and hydraulic oil is separate in all but the basic gear pump model. Range changes are a full (press of a button) declutch, and often (unfairly I would say) criticised for seeming to be slow.

They have auto 4wd and diff control, radar slip speed sensing (standard on the direct gearbox), and ideal front/rear weight distribution. The level of grip is hard to believe until you drive one across mucky ground. They'll play with a five furrow plough through ground that would bog most.

The range topping N series boosts to 200hp, more than adequate to run a feed wagon, turn the haybob, or pull the chain harrows 👍

As with every brand, it all boils down first to whether you like the cab, the dealer down the road, and the price they want.

Dont see the problem? I got the pump with the tractor fit it in the drum connect it to the free flow return and pump as much as you need in no mess
Just what he said, I’ve NH and just a screw cap and gravity seems to work.
He has leather and raves about his “Boom Box” surprised for a 60 yr old!!
When I first saw it I asked where the engine was the front end was so small!!!
But like I said he loves it, he had Fendt before

Plus you have the advantage that there is a small filter in the free flow return, which helps keep everything clean in your hydraulic circuit .(y)

Friend has one and loves it, was moaning about having to top up the back end, need a pump apparently.

I guess workshops add oil with a pump. Just serviced a neighbour's N-series and found the fill plug from an odd place, just behind the rear lift top link. All explained by the user manual (and pdf-copies are available from the brand web-site unlike for most other tractors).

Oh, just going by what he told me, it had jus been serviced and he noticed the level was low, contacted dealer as couldnt find a fill port, hence told he needed a pump to pump it in through the return. I have never even seen the back end of it, just what he said

On my N four series you can add oil in the conventional way by dropping the left-hand steps down there is a filler point above the level gauge, This is as stated in the operators manual but cleanliness of the oil put in is of paramount importance
