Depreciation wouldn’t be everything if I part exd it for another valtra next time....but it would if I didn’t like it and went back to JD...
Those N series valtra seem to hold there value quite well.

Change is never easy.place I get straw from has just bought 4 all singing all dancing valtras ,vario,60k,air cab sus, evo seats ect.they've been NH as long as I can remember.get very good service from them too but NH couldn't get anywhere near the deal valtra were offering.

Might be partly down to yourself not just the tractor.
I was the first in the area to buy a valmet and on a recent count I got over 40 around here now , plenty of them with over 20,000 hours on them. Great tractors that give very little trouble. Cheap to own which is very important , no common bills for brakes or fuel pipes or injectors or head gaskets like other green tractors with yellow wheels.

I’m surprised with that as NH were always cheaper than valtra .

I'm not trying to say there's anything wrong with valtra but just as you have good service from them stick an idiot on the seat and the bills will rack up with any brand.

@Northeastfarmer what spec of N series have they quoted? Active, versu, or direct?

Active is 5 powershift and manual spools, versu adds electric spools, and direct is the bells and whistles "Vario" gearbox.

Go for the direct, please! You will not regret it. It drives just like the forklift on the foot throttle, no brakes or clutch required. The direct is a actually a hydrostatic drive gearbox with 4 ranges and a powershift gear in each range.

It really is a lovely gearbox for everything, but especially for loader work that it was designed for!

Of all tractor brands , valtra is the one brand that I don’t mind letting any body drive , they are very simple to use and the clutch and gear change systems on them protect the transmission from most abuse. The brake system has 7 discs in each side which is up to 6 more than some other makes , this system lasts a long long time . You never hear of valtra giving brake trouble where the fileings have gone through the hydraulic system , and the new valtra now have two seperate oil systems that stops cross contamination between the oils from brake fileings . Are JD still using the one oil system everywhere in the tractor.

Have a Valtra 121 here for 8 years, nearly 7000 hrs, and hardly touched it, gone Kubota since as Valtra dealer was only interested in selling Fendt, Valtra's a cracking tractor, still a favourite to jump in, now Kubota dealer has been shafted and lost franchise may well look again.

Bit off topic but I have heard that Kubota are heavy on fuel.

Any truth or just gossip?

I had an m series out to replace a 7yr old r series. Both 40k, After a day on it I preferred to get back in the r.
I've since brought a very low hours 130r with 50k. Lovely tractor. Couldn't bring myself to step back into a 20 series cab...

The one I had ago in was great never been a johndeere man either 👍🏻 never been in a more compfortable tractor
I’ve had a quote for a 130 R and the valtra would now be around 5/6k less than the JD

spoke to 2 people today who own 130R’s with loaders and both said they beautiful tractors but they are totally useless as a loader tractor
My neighbour has 2 deeres they are older ones but by Christ they are numb on loaders. Bit of what you fancy does you good, try the valtra

Was that a 2020 one or old style? The newer ones are a big step forward. With the curved front windscreen I feel they’re more airy than the R.
