To make a profit on the calves sold at 9 months old. What value do you put on an average steers and heifers? beef cross angus sire named. grass fed. Sold privately not through mart. Avail end of Feb. Havent weighed them yet. Seen a few on Breedr but some are extremely low in price. Got to cover costs and make a profit.

Temperature rise and Cattle Market still hot!!
The first week of trade has seen our Cattle market open up very strong for feeder and restocker types in all weight ranges.
I attended the Wodonga and Wangaratta weaner sales last week in Victoria and witnessed record breaking results for outstanding calves.
These prices I believe will filter north if our Gunnedah cattle sale this week is any sort of barometer.
A lot of the Victorian bred calves did end up coming back to Northern NSW and Southern QLD.
Gunnedah yarded just under 1000 head for our first sale back.
Nutrien Livestock Gunnedah highlights include-
Maules Creek clients with DSK Angus blood steer weaners selling for 726.2c/kg @ 291 kg to return $2113 at 10 months of age.
Gunnedah clients with a nice pen of Limousin cross heifers making 588.2c/kg @ 382 kg for $2247 , preg tested empty.
Narrabri clients with 2 yards of outstanding pens of export weight Angus feeder steers weighing 452 and 502kg , selling for 591.2 c/kg to see the tops return $2967 !!
