Value of "Weeks Trailer " at auction?

Sounds to me like there would be a market for someone churning out new bases for weekes trailers, there must be shed loads about with rotted out floors that could do with a new one. The corner posts are always fine, and the sides last longer than the floors, so its just a flat steel frame with two heavy box sections for the hinge part thats required.

They really must have been the most rubbish design for a trailer ever, amazed any are still in use.
We had a Weeks 6 ton trailer badged as MF. In all fairness the chassis was good but the body was truly awful. The " folded over tin" hinges on the sides were just a joke. We used to say "Weeks by name but weak by nature".
I remember the guy who bought it said he was going to " Finish it off" to use his words "By carting some builders rubble away with it .Then I'm going to make a completely new body for it"

I think they are one of the worst trailers ever made, and cant understand why anyone would want one. There are loads in farm sales up here, and make between £50 for scrap ones with no floor in (like the one i have got with a tree growing up through it),and maybe £450 for a really good one with a floor that hasnt got any holes in.They are rubbish, with a sort of pressed steel floor that is almost impossible to repair.

Slightly OT, but does anyone make replacement beds for weekes trailers? I could do with replacing the bed on a couple I have that are used for livery manure.
We have restored a few of these trailers over the years,
Can't help with a complete new bed but we had all new floor sections made and end caps.
We still have the drawings at the local Lazer cutting firm I think

Our plus 40 went away for scrap 15 years ago. Soft as:poop:
Got a couple of older Kay(Milnathort) trailers still in regular use.
One of them will be over 50 year old. Father says he remembers grandfather going to look at/buying it. Was one of the first they made with solid steel rather than wooden sides.
The newer part wooden sided one has got woodworm now though;)

We had a Weeks trailer, seemed ok but the floor was a rot trapping nightmare.

Swapped it for a Richard Western a few years ago, an early one, built like a tank, needs an army of weetabix fed giants to put the tailboard back on!

@Goweresque I believe @REStracTORATION has done a few- I may be wrong but seem to remember in some pictures in an old restoration thread? Failing that I did wonder how viable it would be to produce a kit to replace the floors- certainly something we would look at but I suspect it would be cost prohibitive?
Yes I've done 4 of them now
We made ours out of 2mm tin folded into n profile then slotted them in side rails on and end caps.
The floors are a good design but a bad idea

I would make the next floor out of galvanized tin then paint
