I would like to know what this Taskers trailer might be worth please. Knowing you lot try giving 2 values; how much you would want if you were selling it and how much you would pay to buy it.

Its got four tyres that are inflated , but old , no brakes no lights and pretty specialized for carrying long round wood but TBH you answered your own question if you have no use for it what would you take for it if someone else has that use ??? you ask too much they ain't going to buy it if I were in that position it was mine and someone had asked about it ask them to make an offer I would accept £250 as being fair but would sell it for £100 if they were not prepared to pay £250 as otherwise it's just going to sit and rot.
If i where the buyer i would also offer £250.00 but if that is you , how much is it worth to you ??? maybe much more , maybe less

As said ...it is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and not a penny more. Pity it can't talk as I am sure it could tell some interesting stories. Do not send it to scrapyard

It does have brakes, a cable and lever operated on the front axle and a hydraulic ram operating rear brakes but I only dragged it out of a jungle yesterday so no idea if they work. I suspect the whole thing would need time rather than a lot of money spent to make it serviceable. 2 of the wheels have split rims which would scare me if working on them. The other 2 have divided rims which I would be more comfortable with. Working in the woods I reckon you would need a lot of space to manoeuvre it, something you don't often have, and would be better with a crawler pulling it. Anybody got a suitable crawler?

Well your thoughts on value are smack in line with what I was thinking. It is not my trailer, it has been parked up on a neighbours paddock, but I do know someone who may be interested as he has some woodland to get some trunks out of. I am not looking to make any money out of this unless I end up doing some work on it. So far all I have done is pull it out, free up one wheel which was stuck and steam clean it off.

It has the "Taskers of Andover" manufacturer plate on it and as far as I can find out they built a lot of trailers using military axles and bits. Taskers started in 1805 or thereabouts but went through several incarnations. Interestingly according to Wikipedia just after the war the Ministry of Defence called for tenders for firms to build trailers capable of carrying a whole aeroplane. 10 days later Taskers submitted a set of drawings and costings AND a completed prototype trailer. How many firms could do that these days.
