Valuing a garden mower tractor

Seems a bit funny putting this in this section, but I couldn't see where else it could go and thought the same principles may apply to this as to bigger farm machinery...

My mum has asked me to sell my late father's garden tractor for her. It's a John Deere X130R. It is ten years old, and cost £3150 new. 86.5 hours on the clock. Serviced by main dealer most years until the last few, and then serviced by a local company regularly. Always kept indoors, not been used other than started up to shuffle about for the last couple of years. Lots of receipts, original bill of sale and owners' manual all with it.

I've had a look in likely places online but the sort of prices for similar things vary wildly. I just want to ask a fair price for it.

Part of me would like to buy it, but I don't really have any use for it. My John Deere tractor is 3 times as old and has over a hundred times the hours on it.

Any suggestions? Many thanks,
NP.

Thank you for all the replies...

I'd say you can ask nearer £3k. Especially if there's no vat on it.
man goes to JD dealers and is quoted £4500+vat. He'll soon be interested in an immaculate 85hr model At nearly £2500 cheaper.

That's almost as much as he paid for it in the first place, though I appreciate they'll have gone up in the intervening years. It is in very good condition though, he always looked after his possessions.

I had assumed it would be around the £1500 mark so will probably do what @Flat 10 suggested, or thereabouts.

Thank you everyone - and if anyone's interested please send me a PM. It's located near Rye, on the Kent / Sussex border.

I can’t see it being worth more than £1500-2000. It’s 10 year old and been superseded by newer models. A new 350 which is a bigger model is £4300 inv vat in my local dealers. You may be lucky in finding someone who will pay £2500 and above but it’s still 10 years old and no warranty.
