The guy who almost invented vegan .. Leslie J Cross created this definition of a vegan in the 1940,s.
“[t]he principle of the emancipation of animals from exploitation by man”.
This is later clarified as “to seek an end to the use of animals by man for food, commodities, work, hunting, vivisection, and by all other uses involving exploitation of animal life by man”.

yet the “modern” vegan definition is altered to say “try to” ... blah blah

SO.... modern Vegans are NOT vegan al all. They are just Vegan wannabes
And as I’ve said on previous threads, you can pretty much guarantee that they’ll use medicines that were tested on animals during their development.
@Veganguy, I know you’ll ignore this as you’ve ignored most previous questions, but my daughter has chosen to join your vegan cult, yet she has a house cat. Is that enslaved, because it has a much less natural life than all my farm livestock?

to my knowledge cats have to eat meat...so In keeping a cat an animal must die

Hi Muddyroads
you are going to have to tell her that she’s not a vegan at all
Once the label is taken away I reckon they’ll quickly lose interest
Vegetarian is Sooooooo last century !!

For the sake of family relationships I let her live her own life, but she knows how I feel about it. She’s 27 and been married for a year. I’m just waiting for the conversation when she wonders why she can’t get pregnant. That will be the time to discuss the effects of her diet.

Nobody influenced me. I think for myself.

Thank you for returning to the forum @Veganguy .

I'm quite relieved you made that statement, and that you are independent in your thinking.
I hope you are reading widely enough to recognise that the main thrust of posts on this thread is that we humans live within a deeply complex web of life. Every living thing is interdependent.

It would help me to understand a vegan viewpoint if, as asked by the OP, an indication could be given as to how breaking from symbiosis would make this Planet somehow better. How would a vegan (modern, westernised type) go about feeding the population of Earth a wholesome, nutritious diet?

my sister went vegan, well apart from Chinese carryouts, oh and party food/ready meals. Never known anyone so ill, constant runny nose, lack of energy, fed up, doesn’t really do anything, bad skin and somehow managing to gain a lot of weight.

Now she’s fixing this by using an alternative therapist. Mum went round the other day and the snot was pouring out of her nose, but apparently this is good coz it means the “treatment” is working. ?

what is this amazing treatment? Why, it’s a machine that charges water with different frequencies. ?

not seen it in action, but imagine it’s something like this.......

Well we as a family tried the Tesco vegan sausage casserole last night.
Plant based sausages - absolutely DISGUSTING. Nobody finished theirs.
It is clear after trying that crap why Vegans are so angry! I'd be angry if I had to live on things like that!! Chewing on a bit of meat must be good for the soul.
Give me a Portland chop any day!

I quite liked Gregg's vegan sausage roll, but I don't know if I liked it mostly because it made Piers Morgan so angry, and that in itself is a very pleasant taste indeed...….
