Apologies if this has already been covered somewhere, or if it should be in the 'Brexit and Politics' section.

I've just read an online article about the speech Boris Johnson made at JCB HQ, Stafford. He was 'donated' £10,000 for the 25 minute speech obviously re. Brexit, mentioning JCB multiple times.

It then goes on to say in the article that former Brexit secretary David Davies is to be employed by JCB as an 'external advisor' of which he will be required to work 20 hours per year and will be paid £60,000...…..

Just popped into my head reading about problems with paint on newer JCB machines and complaints falling on deaf ears, then you get this sort of willy-nilly money throwing. Just seems a bit of a joke to me.

I then go on to think about all the ex service men and women who are, in the year of 2019, still living on the streets with little to help from government.

My Terex backhoe would wipe the floor with a JCB anyway :ROFLMAO:

That must be very labour intensive farm then !

considering the positioning of the 3cx behind Borris and the coverage it has had in the papers, online and TV seems like good value for money.

I do not see any reason to savage a man who is running his own business within the law and as heralds of free enterprise surely all contributors to this forum should be congratulating him for his efforts?

I find it hard to believe the man employs 6000 self employed contractors, the revenue men would have something to say about that.

10K to have Boris in the factory and with your machine in the news is very cheap marketing I would suggest.

I really cannot understand why your pulling JCB to bits,
A Great British company, doing a fine job both for themselves and the country, and one of the great successes left,,
they must be doing something right, over 3 billion turnover in 2018,
and to think someone believes that 6000 workforce is self employed, is just a wet dream you had last night,
staff of a large farm? I would doubt that all UK farmers put together will have 6000 on paye
as for the 10 k for Boris speech, 3 Billion turnover the cost would be 0.00033% well to put it in prospective the same percentage of 20k would not buy you 1 Fish & Chips, so hardly chucking money about, yet it will yield many times that,

with all this negativity, your doomed before you start,

I really don't feel I've 'savaged' or 'pulled JCB to bits'..... All I was thinking about when reading the article was about the multiple threads on the forum about people not being pleased with their JCB machines, thinking of you lot! Am fully aware a man can do what he wants with his money.

There's not a lot of point in a lot of threads on here and quite frankly I wish I never bothered now, only come on here for a discussion and a laugh with like minded people. Instead everything instantly turns savage, maybe it's the lack of sunlight.

Over half the users on here are old enough to be my parents and it's not much different watching the 'adults' in parliament, squabbling like children. Ever wondered how there's so many active members yet very few contribute? Probably through fear of voicing a different opinion to yours and being torn apart because of it.

Have a Snickers, chaps! :)
