Above idea is good or do the middle bay off forms then the side ones freehand. I bought a magic screed last year and first job was 20’ x 20’ workshop floor had to do it without any forms as walls already in. Easier if concrete slightly wetter, use laser level to get about right with rake and then use magic screed. After that I used bull float, was happy considering it was first go at it.

If you order the right stuff it virtually levels itself and all you do is a little raking and floating level until it takes a powerfloat.
