Anyone got any recommendations for a good strong vice that will stand up to lots of abuse, be used for metal work and general engineering.
Thanks

Tried eBay but no luck with delivery, to be honest I've always been disappointed with eBay. Going to get a record 25 from bg industrial, just working on sorting out freight.

We have one and don't think any other vice could take the hardship !:)

But the jaws are not parallel and this can be dangerous if you really are belting something.

A Record is good but there is a better vice, the Army use it, it has a rotating head, one side for flat bits, the other for pipes. Can't remember the name of it, it is made to be run over (accidentally) by tanks. Anyone else heard of it?

2 record 25s ordered from bg industrial, second hand out a plane wing workshop! They're 43kg each so should do the job! I'll post a photo next week when they're home. Think they're amongst the last made in the uk. Saw a record 6 in our local shop and it certainly didn't have much of a finish compared with our old 6.
