Hi,

about to give the fertiliser spreader a go, but wondering where the market should be against the numbers To match up on the regulator?

Any help appreciated, am I missing something!

I line mine up on the figure appearing in the window on the right hand side but you need to calibrate it as there are so many variables.

Thanks both, appreciate the responses.
Been reading a lot on the forum, and the way to go seems to be just going for it!

First time fertilising, so all new to me and probably the best way to learn is by making mistakes!!

If you’re doing it for first time and going for a heavyish rate halve the rate and do a smallish field twice in two different directions. The ideal way is a 6 acre field at 100kg per acre with one bag!!!

Thanks all for the replies, went with a light spread and just doubled up where I went until the bag had gone.

Only had the one bag, bit of a trial to see how it goes.

Have to wait and see for the results now :)

Put the end of the white dial on the number you want. What are you spreading and what rate p/acre do you want to put it on at?

It's a long time ago but, I thought the figure was read on the left of the white adjuster, the "window" should house two springy bits that prevent it from turning..

I may be wrong, someone else will be along shortly no doubt

What are the 'springy bits' to prevent the white bit turning? Searched Google images without success. My white adjuster is held in place with a bit of binder twine as I think it unthreaded itself one year! I've made serviceable springs in the past out of used hacksaw blades (heat, shape, and re-temper) but I need to know what they should look like.
