Looking for something for the children. They are making stop motion Lego animations. Need to be able to splice .avi files, and also add an audio track over the top.

Oh, and free.

And easy to use.

Black Magic Design do a free version of their Davinci Resolve editing software. Very feature packed and the colour grading is the best in the business, most big movies and tv shows are graded on Resolve. As for editing, it's pretty damn good and no more difficult to use than anything else.
