I would be very interested in finding a forage harvester from the early /mid sixties.....i know its a long shot as most of them were chopped up years ago but maybe at the back of a barn somewhere there is something of interested...My intention is to have a outfit from the era on a fordson super 4 county......I would also be interested in any ransome implements suitable for the major

I have a wilder twin chop forage harvester which I had new in 1973 I think.it was used for many years till I went onto using a contractor, then it was used for zero grazing.
The wilder twin chop is a sort of a 1960s model with twin shear bars and is bullet proof
After about 45years it's getting ready for some restoration work, but I am sure it will cut a field of grass.
I have had a tractor on the front and it ran fine there isn't much to go wrong on these machines
If you want to view it's near Chesterfield in Derbyshire .

Congratulations that must be up there with the eldest working forage harvesters

Well it was working until the main bearing collapsed which I have replaced no problem but have somehow bent the main shaft in taking the main drive pulley off. Really need a specialist to straighten as its beyond my big hammer skills.
