or he is laughing all the way to the bank due to higher oil and gas prices due to the"crisis"
That is a remarkably short-term view. More than anything else this situation has made EUropean countries realise their vulnerability to the Russian domination of their energy markets.

They will change that, whether immediately due to necessity of conflict, or in an on-going way, but it will change. So where will that leave Russia? The only alternative market is China, yes, Russia and its economy will be even more dependent on and under the control of China than it already is.

Plus everyone in and outside Russia will have seen him push, and then runaway when pushed back at; great win for Vlad that... :banghead:

(assuming he does back off, if he attacks, all that plus he'll be in a horrible long-term fight)

Or he will say exercise is over, and tell the press oh look how jumpy the west is over russia having a few war games how scared of the russian bear they are , hopefully the west will just ignore him and sort their energy security out

Do you think the West/Europe will realise how much they are in hock to Russia and more importantly do anything about it?

Hahahaha.

Just how long will take to do ANYTHING to reduce reliance on Natural Gas ?

Oh .. we've got 2 wells in the UK with Trillions of cubic metres of gas. What does he who gets ambushed by cake do ? Pours in the concrete.

It's a comedy.

That's only half the story.

Russia demonstrated the ability to destroy satellites and hypersonic nuclear missiles. Europe and the USA is not in the same position it was when it gave 5 Billion Euros to destablilise the Ukraine. The EU tried to remove the Crimean military base.

Russia is going to give payback to the EU.

The UK government talks WAY too big for it's own good. Giving that Aircraft Carrier a conventional engine was dumb - there are no repercussions if it's blown up.

I think China is now going to have a go and keep the pressure up.

Well, you got something right.

Still don't want to admit your precious "Climate Change" policy is not just wrong but down right dangerous ?

Let's get rid of all our energy security, pay Russia for Natural Gas (Environmentally friendly red gas) and then spend lots of money defending ourselves from the money given to Russia.

Whilst at the same time reducing our productivity, increasing our base costs, destablising our own populations through regulation and taxxing our own popoulation - oh and don't forget you cannot leave your home and cannot work.

Perhaps Boris is really a Russian Spy 🤔:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

It is very precious, and right; and what you of course don't mention is that I've always advocated expanded nuclear generation. You'll also find nowhere that I've suggested relying on gas, nor Russia - but why let facts get in the way of a good rant?

Russia always said their war games in that region would end around the 20th Feb.

Truth is Boris and Biden are DESPERATE to go to war with Russia regardless of what Russia does, Russia could move all their troops/tanks etc 500/ 1000 miles away from the Ukraine border and still Boris and sleepy Joe would say that means they are going to invade Ukraine on Wens at 2 pm...

Biden claims he has concrete evidence that Russia are going to invade tomorrow, yet they will not show the Ukraine Gov this so called evidence, think that tells you all you need to know..................

And if Russia has moved some troops/ tanks away from the border and do not invade Ukraine tomorrow then both Boris and Biden will look like right idiots with the rubbish they are coming out with.

Idiot Truss was on TV this Morning telling Russia they had to stay away from a certain city/ port in the region, only problem is that said city/port has long been part of Russia!!

We have a UK government of absolute idiots..

Hmm... they're unusually well supplied 'war games', I'm not aware of any others in which any of Russia, the Warsaw Pact or NATO have brought large quantities of blood to their MASH units, are you?
If you want to find any reason to convince yourself that Russia is wanting to invade like Boris and Biden are so keen to do then you will always find something!

Did Russia not in other years play large scale war games near the Ukraine border?? but then there was none of this hype like Boris and Biden are doing this year

Anyone can advocate anything. Anyone can also suggest not relying on Russian gas.

The reality on the ground is totally different.

Let's just ignore our food security, ignore our energy security and cost working people double the energy price .. soon to be a lot more.

For what ? All they've done so far is export CO2 production elsewhere whilst reducing UK jobs. Even if what they want "Works" - it will be a small reduction of 1% of 10% of CO2. But don't worry .. bits of paper say the world won't heat up by the end of the century now because China makes UK steel .. we'll have to make UK war ships out of recycled cakes.
