Just because some others have been investigated and some have made some adjustments, it does NOT mean that they purposely designed cheat devices into their engines. Those that have are prosecuted. Those that are subsequently found guilty are punished, although mainly at a corporate level, although the net is closing at a personal level now also. The biggest scandal is nearly all car manufacturers have misleading emissions figures but only VW have been taken to town for it. It's not unusual for real world figures to be double those achieved under test conditions.
JLR recalled 44,000 vehicles that failed emissions standards but it never became a scandal, I suspect because they've got no money to pay fines even if it went to court.
Fiat-Chrysler and CNH had their offices raided over claims of illegal levels of emissions, but again it hasn't received much coverage.Jaguar Land Rover recalls 44,000 cars over emissions
Land Rover, Range Rover and Jaguar models are affected by the UK recall, the firm says.www.bbc.co.uk

Investigators visit sites in Germany, Italy and Switzerland, and two UK firms are asked to provide documents.www.bbc.co.uk
I am often seeing adverts from, presumably, ambulance chasing lawyers about claiming for misrepresentation if you have a VW product of a certain age. We have a 'qualifying' Skoda. Just wondering if anyone's tried claiming this? Are these advertising lawyers worth bothering with, or is there a genuine firm to go to?
Just had a interesting email from slater Gordon.Yes we are in on this for two vehicles and I know a few others doing it. It’s done by Slater Gordon. Fairly easy claims process and it’s now progressing. VW appealed an early decision in May which delayed things a bit but it’s now confirmed VW lied about 1.2 million vehicles in the UK. There’s 20 lead claimants of which SG are one. The courts will now look at these lead claims when submitted then VW will file a defence early next year.

Expecting money in the bank shortly.
What sort of amount?Just had a interesting email from slater Gordon.

After costs I assume, must have been over £3k originally?£2100
Slater and Gordon are saying £1700 ish to me and they have £400 for their troubles. After costs I assume, must have been over £3k originally?
What is the basis of the figures? the extra fuel used compared to what the fraudulent test figures suggested what you would get, anything for loss of sale value? does the time owned have a bearing?Slater and Gordon are saying £1700 ish to me and they have £400 for their troubles.
