Voting ID cards

The party beginning with C and ending E also used to offer lifts to the polling station, have done it myself. However we had the strong feeling that many asking for the lift were actually from the other side and having a laugh at usšŸ˜‚
Regards personation, polling station staff are always on the lookiout for it and it is certainly a jailable offence. I very much doubt that more than a very few votes are cast this way. It would be a very stupid election fraudster to try this often, when fiddling the postal vote is so easy!

Go on. Tell us how to fiddle the postal vote!!!!!

You could be right, I havenā€™t checked him recently. The point still stands so what about my 68 year old uncle then?

Yep, I still have my paper licence, valid untill Iā€™m 70. Except, of course, itā€™s not now I live here - but I canā€™t exchange it at the moment as there is no ā€œaccordā€ arranged just yet. Big problem for those turning 70. Of which there are plenty.

Several ways.
Firstly father applies for all the family, in their name, but fills the lot in himself.
Second party activist visits local pub and offers a tenner for every vote bought to him.
Another preacher at church/mosque / temple telling congregation they must bring votes to be filled in a very common trick among people whose first language is not English

It's becoming a big problem in Spain. Ex pats have only until the 30th June to get a Spanish driving licence, but they need their residency permit in order to get it and they are only just starting to be issued very slowly. As it currently stands, after June you need to take your driving test again, currently there is an 8 moth waiting list. :banghead:

Why won't an international driving licence do the job ?

I do not see people complaining they need to have Id to prove age in the supermarket or at the pub

we should have full I d card used as benefits claims doctor visits and driver licence ect

we have to have I d card for many jobs now all public servants and most skilled crafts ( electric or gas fitter )

A strange one this.
In 2019 there was a conviction for someone voting twice in European elections.
Costs are reckoned to around Ā£20000000.
The libertine PM has twice voted against ID cards and even went as a far as offering to eat one if he were asked to present it to a requiring authority.

Unless of course there is a plan behind it...

I wonder if they are allowed these funny little 2 stroke things without a license, like here. Mind, there wonā€™t be enough to go around

But you were told to by the gendarmes šŸ˜‚
Knew they should be changed. Actually went to change them and was refused. Got done for speeding and had to change so got them done in the end , must be 15 year now.
Went to renew carte de sejour and was told no. Kept old cards and that payed off in the end. On third 10 year card now.šŸ˜€

I asked about three years ago about my license and was told ā€œafter Brexitā€. And so it goes on. I was actually stopped in February and it wasnā€™t a problem. Petra got her french licence a matter of days after we arrived as her Czech was still in her maiden name ... and she worries about such things, so at least she can do all the fetching and carrying if it comes to itšŸ˜‚

If you had gone on ANTS 3 years ago, you could have done it in there , no problem.

Thinking about it, I got caught for speeding a month after my 17th birthday, the day after I took my test, handing over my pass slip to the policešŸ˜‚. Now. Due to February, I have 3 points off my license... before I even have a license šŸ˜‚.
Oh, and in the middle of that I did manage to keep my license with 13 points on it when frigging cameras first became all the rage (you perhaps just missed that?).
I guess I donā€™t take the Czech approach to rules, who seem to be under the impression they are something to abide byšŸ¤”, particularly this one:banghead:

University halls of residence place every student on the electoral register and for a postal vote, ballot papers arrive when vast majority are not present, but all get filled in and returned.
Alternately there is the time honoured method of knocking on doors and offering to assist people with filling in their ballot paper.
