Talking of friends and relatives have you noticed you now need an attestation from the Mairie for anyone visiting you from the UK. It's 30 euro for France and 78 euro for Spain and needs to be done around a month in advance. Anyone holidaying in Europe now has to prove they have booked accommodation have a return ticket and funds of at least 120 euro a day. Welcome to Brexit.

Don't think so. When you go to your holiday home you will need to show proof of ownership at the customs as well as your return ticket.
