I wonder what photos of your ploughing looked like when you started out ??
The next generation entrant has taken the time and effort to take part in something new and given it a go , at the end of the day VPlough is an opportunity to plough on your own or in a small group and support Air ambulances that provide a life line to many rural communities and I only hope more people follow the entrants lead .

Sometimes there are also backstories to things and this entry is a one of those , a family tractor that I believe spans generations and has a huge sentimental and emotional attachment to
the whole family that is further magnified by an early bereavement of one of the family who I sure would have loved to be driving the D2 himself .

#arcobob I suggest that maybe you take part in VPlough ,not only to keep your hand in ploughing ,not only to enter in to the good spirit of competition but also to support your local air ambulance

not aware that the requirement of a first entry to any ploughing match is to be of championship standard ? every one has to start somewhere , Yes VPLough is a ploughing match ,judged by experienced judges and welcomes all standards of ploughmen and women of all ages in all classes . Getting the next generations into ploughing is vital if anyone wants to see ploughing matches continue .
As I said why not enter yourself and enter into the spirit of things ? I will even go one further I will pay the £10 entry fee myself to the Norfolk air ambulance if you enter a class

I will help anybody to get into ploughing if they have the right approach and have indeed spent countless hours doing so, but not somebody with an oversize rusty plough and. apparently no skimmers. The guy has a nice tractor and if he wants to put it to good use and enjoy himself he should perhaps start with a cultivator, graduate to a two furrow plough, fully kitted out to produce a good result, and then he will get help. He makes no attempt to make adjustments in order to improve his performance and I saw no evidence of him getting off the tractor to take measurements either. He should spend time watching others, ask questions and accumulate knowledge before roughing up a farmer`s field. Maybe it was his field and he is entitled to do exactly what he wants but to display to all and sundry an example such as this to illustrate match ploughing is not helpful.

Hi - Hopefully there will be a lot more entries into this class, and it will useful for everyone to compare notes.
The post wasn't designed to be a reference point of excellence, but to applaud a youngster for having a go and getting into the spirit of the competition. I would agree that there are points to improve upon, but we all had to start somewhere and that should be congratulated.

As judges we have the responsibility of not only scoring entrants in a fair and honest way, but to spend time with them, to encourage, make suggestions, support them. They are the future of ploughing matches.

Perhaps the young chap doesn't have the "right equipment", but perhaps he doesn't have the funds to finance them either. All the more reason to offer kind words of encouragement I would have thought........................

OTT criticism of youngsters/amateurs just results in the plough being put back in the bramble pile where it originated which would be a dreadful shame.

I do not blame the young chap for what he did but I blame the poster of the video for showing this as an example of what match ploughing is all about. The video is about as far removed from reality as you can get and may have done more harm than good.

Confused and frustrated, to support my local air ambulance I decided to participate tonight, created an account during entering the ploughing competition, but once I had selected the photos it wouldn’t let me upload them even though they where standard JPEG’s of photos from my iPhone thought it was because I selected perhaps too many photos, so I left it to read further information despite other albums containing more than 4 photos which is the number I later discovered you supposed to submit I assume at a minimum, couldn’t find how to complete or restart my entry.

So I created a completely new account to start again and purposefully selected only four photos and the same thing again I would appear the file sizes are two big or something so I’ve given up the idea of trying to support the event and will make my charitable donation directly instead.

Anyone else entered and tried too and have issues?

Hi - There is a limit to the size of the files you can upload - 2MB. If they were bigger the website would struggle and be very slow to load up for some.

Hi I ran into that problem of picture size its very easy to correct. You right click on the picture go down to resize click on that , chose the email size it will bring up where do you want to store and name the file , make sure you write resize on it and save otherwise you will never find the thing again. if i can do it anyone can do it mike

Couldn't figure out how to resize photos on my iPad without probably downloading some other software but finally managed to email them to a PC where I knew how to resize them, got them uploaded now in to my album and made the donation to my local air ambulance service.
