Vredestein tyres

Looking at replacing back tyres on a tractor have priced all makes am mainly on spud work which needs a good gripping cleaning tyre what are vredestein like for loose soil work

No I contractor with vredestein loves them on grass am not so sure for loose soil have bkt and Michelin both grip grand have been offered ceat also used to run vredestein years ago

From personal experience I've found Continental to be the best cleaning tyre in loose soil followed by Michelin and Kleber. I'm not a fan of BKT. Also found the Continental really good gripping tyre, just a pity about the splitting sidewalls

Problem is running a tyre at low pressure that isn't designed to be run at low pressure. I run Michelin on a fendt 718....on my second set....ive done 8500 hours in it

I suspect that has a lot to do with it. I am also a little sceptical though as to whether all manufacturers sidewalls will actually last indefinitely if the tyre is always run at the lowest allowed pressure according to their chart.

I also wonder though what the dynamic loads are actually like when doing things like raising a subsoil out of work compared to static loads measured in the yard.

We had kleiber radial tyres late 70s early 80s.when you had to pay extra for radials on a new tractor.they came with a chart with low inflation pressures. Not many I know of wore out they were replaced under warranty for cracking and lugs falling off.then they decided you need to up the pressures. Sounds like it's happening all over again.how long before manufactures start recommending higher pressures

CEAT don't go below 12 psi(0.8 Bar) in their tyre data books - are their tyres not up to it or are they being more realistic.I'm very pleased with mine.

Your get the same issues with vredestein, mine have gone in the walls, they do grip and ware well, if your doing high hours it won,t be a problem, your ware the tyre out before the walls go.

There is nothing to touch a trelleborg in a spud field. We have had all makes, the only tyre close to a trelleborg is a xeobib but then you are in a different price bracket.
