Waikato liners

Anyone use the genuine square waikato liners?

I've bought 72 sets and they are horse sh*t
So I've taken them out after just 3 days milking 3 sides of cows. 28 sets have never seen a cow.

Anyone got a 72 point rotary and want a cheap set of brand new liners?
Do you recon they will deteriorate if not used for 18 months?

I hope not. When we put in our robots they supplied a big box of rubber liners for each robot. Been going two years the beginning of this month & not used over many out of the second box. Got both sets due to change any day. They don’t appear to be any different to when we first opened them up.

"1994" repeating, went back to the old Alfa Laval's.
Actually almost certainly made by Skellerup NZ, design wasn't the issue but variable quality rubber, that said we have had similar issues with European rubberware too.

Keep them dry and out of "sunlight", should be OK for a few years.

whats the thinking behind a "sqaure" liner ?? Just can't see how that could collapse and massage a teat ??

I've run Waikato square liners for years with no issues. Unfortunately as above, they don't always fold over and shut off correctly with light shells - on the up side, they don't split as soon as a cow stands on them because they're so meaty down low.

Exactly my theory. I run them on longer than their recommended number of milkings & have no issues. Think those two boxes will last me about 3 years.
We when used the Waikato liners had an issue where they split prematurely, even when in the correct tension ring randomly, went back to the De Laval and never really had and issues since, even if we used them beyond their designated services life.

Maybe it's the milfos shells that are too light, as plenty of people seem to get on well with them. They won't fold over and cut the air supply off, makes attachment near impossible.
I'll try to explain...
Are the (4) outlets square or tapered? We had same problem, depends whether the stainless steel claw peice had tapered outlets or square, the manufacture (interpulse/avonrubber in my case) has two choices to how the vacuum is shut off. If they are tapered the liners close against the ssteel shutting of the vacuum. If they are square edge the liner needs to be able to collapse to shut off the vacuum.
I suspect you have the square edge outlet on your claws. But the liners need tapered outlets.

Is it not worth changing shells long term do away with them awful screwy plastic bits at the top of a milfos shell. Plus you gain the milfos hanging hook being stainless over the rubbish plastic waikato versions 😃
