Waikato milk meters.

I've picked up 20 Waikato mark 5 milk meters like this

Firstly does anyone have another 12 or 15 with brackets that they are looking to sell?

Secondly, I've just fitted one this morning and once the sample has been take it seems you either have to dump the the rest of the milk out of the meter on the floor or send it back into the long milk tube, where upon most comes back through the claw piece onto the floor and some stays in the line to 'contaminate' the next sample. Is that right?

No turn the little tap horizontal the other way , milk should go up the line, it does with us. we have 4 spare her if you are stuck

Just crossed my mind have you got the back pipes on correctly, one to the claw other to the line?

Google found me this diagram so I went with this.

Emptying the measuring cylinder when it's not under vacuum the milk all just flows out of the claw when I turned the tap.

I'll have another go this afternoon when I'm not milking.

Looking for another 5 or 10 here so if you find a big lot of them would split with you?

Thinking of hiring some in for milk recording - how complicated are they to fit?

It took me about 3 hours to work out how to fit the first one but now I think I've worked out where to put them it's pretty straightforward.

They're £5 each to hire from NMR and I don't think they come with brackets to hang them on. If you need to by the brackets then they're £20 each or second hand metres are around the £40 mark.

You've done a grand job of deciding my milk recording frequency

Ours drain to the line without pressing the white lever, so i plumbed it in so the milk from the claw goes direct to the centre port on your diagram, the return then joins onto the T at the base of the measuring cylinder, i only have one like this the rest are an older model and are completely different, ours never washes correctly and I'm now wondering if this is why! The thing is you wont be able to reach the white lever unless your 7ft tall in our parlour!
