Whats list

There's a list of eligible items for this grant scheme, and you just tick the items you want to claim. Not on PC at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the link is near the top of this thread somewhere (edit: or indeed, just above).

You need to have attended a (very interesting:sleep:) Farming Connect roadshow meeting too, or more importantly, have signed in at one.

I don't know really , it works anyway !
i know the feeling about waiting for call backs....I'm trying to get quotes for a 144 x 40 ft shed , real struggle!!

Explain to me - £3000 min grant does that mean I have to find 60% of the 3k? Or is the £3k the 40%. Im not switched on with this one. I still cant get my head around it all. We desperately need a sheep weigher, the cattle crush and set up but this does not include the labour and all the excavating services, concreting and labour which could be a considerable amount of money. £10k plus say £5k in labour and materials = £15k but you get £3866 is that correct? So is it just the system you get grants for?

I see the squeeze crush which we had before (american one) is great but I dont understand the points system.

£3000 is the minimum claim payable so you need to be spending £7500 to get the £3000 (7500x40%=3000)

With the fixed cattle/sheep handling it is just the equipment you get the 40% on, not as you say the additional concrete and excavating etc.

For a £7500 spend you say you want a cattle handling system so as long as it meets the minimum standards you need to be based on 2 holding pens, and gates, 1 circular forcing pen approx. 3-4m radius with galvanised metal and side covers to prevent cattle from seeing to the side, leading to a straight or a curved race 3-5m (depending upon system) side covered length with closure gate which is fitted in the race.
If you buy the basic equipment mentioned above( £9666@40%) you will get £3866 paid to you

In that one item you have passed the minimum claim barrier, you have a crush, buy a head scoop £483x 40%) and weigh bars(£949x 40%) to put under it , each are these are priced up separately.

It seems you should not get too hung on what the points are for don't worry about them

as we have found out with the miles of fencing we have done the labour being the most expensive and timely. Its cost us dearly. At 40% I still cant see it making complete financial sense for us. With the option of picking up some stuff 2nd hand and finance options. Poor farm cash I'm not convinced at the mo on paying 60%.
