Have you guys in NI got a derogation this year?
It seems to have been overlooked here in England, lost in the whole Brexit shake up, the derogation being a European thing and something our lot seem to have forgot about/don’t care about since they’ve taken back control.
End of the month is the deadline to apply for a derogation in NI. Deadline was extended due to covid 19.

I haven’t heard anything like that for England , I use an agent to ensure all paperwork is in order, apply for derogation etc and when I last enquired with them there was no news on a derogation. I would hope they would keep me informed but as the lady who usually looks after my file is on maternity leave it’s not impossible I’ve been overlooked

Yes I have applied for this year last week, there never was any talk of it not being available but remember we're following EU rules here and are still part of the Single Market so that's a big difference

up to 370kg/hectare but on average 350, depending on the weather and carry-over forage situation. About 250 to 275 of that applied as ammonium nitrate and the rest as slurry.

That's if I'm converting units per acre accurately into kg/hectare properly. Someone will soon tell me if not.
So in old speak it would be 250kg/ha of bagged N,6 bags (50kg bags) to the 100kg n per year.

So over the year 6 bags of Nitram to the acre roughly?

I remember that in Denmark, every farm had to have a fertliser management plan, and there were limits to how much fertliser could be bought (depending on the number of acres it was to be used on), I can remember I knew someone and she was an advisor working full time writing fertliser plans. Not sure if that is still the case there, but I bet it is.

Had cause to be trundling around the Welshpool area and environs today and was stunned at the number of clucking sheds gone up since I last paddled around there.
All in the Severn catchment

Yeap thrown under the bus along with the fishermen when our livings were promised to be protected. Surprising lamb prices are where they are with the difficulties exporting.

Lesley Griffiths (and Shaggaty's) Labour friend f^cked it up at the local council by-elections in Wrexham on Thursday ... live in hope that we get a new Ag Minister that understands and respects our industry at Senedd elections in May.
