It was right to move this thread but it would be nice to have some political discussion that was farming related in agricultural matters that those who wouldn't stray to the brexit/ politics could contribute to.

So tell me what the future for the UK post Brexit is? I've been waiting 2 years for someone to tell me where the country is going and where this stash of post Brexit gold is hidden, and how we access it. It's about time the Brexiteer's started telling us how they see the future, instead of going on about how great we were 200 years ago. No bullsh!t about fantasy boarders or massive trade deals with the US and China, none of these things will happen in the short term.
You moved to France so you made the decision to leave us you made your choice the same as our country has

He owns the shop, he pays the rates, he will not beat a disadvantage
Of course he will be at a disadvantage - if he goes and rents a shop his landlord will pay his rates, so rather than borrowing money to buy his shop and paying stamp duty on the purchase as well as interest on the mortgage, he will be far better advised to rent and avoid all these expenses.

Brexit could ever only have been as good as the deal negotiated, nothing agreed yet and I have to say I don’t have a great deal of faith in how things are going.
All Brexit negotiations should have been left in the hands of the pro brexiteers, that way we’d know who to credit with its success or blame for its failure, as it is too many people who didn’t believe in Brexit are involved, I don’t know how they are able to negotiate for something they don’t believe in, I know I couldn’t.

What’s a proper true Brexiteer?

Say like Nigel Lawson, preaches the one true Brexit faith, and then toddles off to live in France!

Or maybe the one true patron saint of Brexit, Mogg. He who preaches Brexit for commoners, but advises his wealthy clients and insiders to move their wealth out of Britain. Follows up by setting up his own business in Dublin.

The problem is that there isn't many of them to start with, they are then in differing camps of soft, hard and fanatical as are the remain politicians for that matter. How I see it, is that Brexit is all about the Conservative party and initially it's irrational fears about UKIP, followed by endless internal power struggles that are tearing the party apart and the country with it. I suspect if the Labour party had managed to elect a proper gown-up leader the Conservatives and their DUP chums would be in opposition at the moment.

Completely irrational;

If you think Labour is any less divided you really haven't being paying attention.

I do not have any problems with those who espouse British Independance, but who for whatever reason, extended family, like marriet on a furriner perhaps, business advantages, whatever, choose to set up business or live in Europe, or the ROI.
And btw. the drummed up fuss about the NI border with the ROI, is a total red herring, since the rest of the European Community, must at some point, "march" non EC members, yet trade continues unabated across such borders, anyway a hard border would do wonders for Irish prosperity, with the lucerative smuggling opportunities so presented.

We just need to play hard ball.
Settle the bill for the long term stuff we signed up to and that will do.
The real reason they don`t like us leaving.....

Mr Muckspreader means that if there was a guy like David Milliband running Labour, with more moderate policies, Labour might be doing better, but they're not, they're ran by a guy that thinks the EU gets in the way of a true socialist state and thus, he's keeping his head down while the tories do his bidding, Ashtree fell for the idea Corbyn was using that ploy for electoral gain, when really, he wants a hard brexit as much as mogg

I agree. The trouble is there are certain folks who "over-Brexit" every good agricultural macro economic discussion, then the majority get peeved and then it's inevitable it ends up here

Forgive my ignorance but what is a "marriet on a furriner" :scratchhead:

The request was for evidence without reference to the Daily Mail, your reply is straight off the front page
Do you read the Mail then?

i could easily flood this page with links from Bloomberg, but you wouldn't read them because that would mean you would have to engage with the argument.

Thats why having Teresa May in charge is a bit like having the fox guard the chickens. I got this feeling were heading down the river without any paddles.
