Just a quick question?
Why TB4?

I thought the consensus was it made more sense to buy from a TB1 area where regular monitoring and testing has taken place.

We have bought about 100+ animals over the last year or so, 14 of which were from a TB4 area the rest are from TB1, we had tracing test on all but 17 of the cattle bought in, all of which were clear.

Last year on our annual herd test we did have 1 IR which went clear on retest. Last week we had our annual test and had 4 x IR's, two of which were from TB4 area.

It could be that the TB4 cattle are fairly naïve to the bugs in the building having never been tested before coming here as two year olds.

With TB testing there really is a great deal of luck of the draw:unsure:

Agree with you to a certain extent but wanted to keep well clear from hot spot areas. I have bought 3 from a friend locally and another 6 from a local dispersal , all annual testing. Most around us will be on 6 month testing from now on. Just feel a bit easier from areas with no TB currently.
