How can i give a price for something I dont know what it is?

How can i give a price for something I dont know what it is?

You could give some guidance.
For example so much per tonne/cube whatever for type e.g oak or beech or ash etc, etc.
You could say price delivered your depot or give a radius you collect from. It all helps give an idea if it is something worth following up.

there are so many variables, do you sell and buy timber? ...how long is a piece of string?
access, distance, quality of wood the list goes on and on
