My father in law has two 165's, not sure if he would sell as he has the desire to restore one but then again he is 70 next week and isn't showing any drive to do it immediately. How do you know a Mk1?
A mk 1 easiest way to describe is red wheel centers 65 rear center type
Round dry brake rear axle, alloy grab handles alloy headlights and 203 engine exhaust on left as your sat on seat
There is many other differences but these are quick picture tell tale signs

If he would sell thats great but no pressure to force a sale from him as he sounds attached to them thanks for replying

I have not seen a 65 for a long time until today.. it's in a shed with a lot of stuff around it which means it parked up for a while but I don't think the elderly owner who can no longer drive
it will sell.. it was going ok which is no use to you

We had 2 MF 165 mk1. tractors both bought new ( E registration plates) both had the 65 type rear wheel centres but they we're painted silver. Interestingly, one of them, ODT 682E is still being taxed.

Yea red wheels and alloy bits started to get phased out late 66 early 67 iirc
The 65 centers were used on the tall lug rims 36" 38" etc as they were adjustable for more track widths too
