Standard of hgv driving is going to take a big nose dive IMO since the shortage any idiot will find a job, I had one try over take me up hill 50 yards from a blind bend on a very narrow road he soon backed off when I didn’t get in the hedge for him

took daughter back to nottingham uni today....on way out radcliffe area....good wide road there was a jd with drill .....coupla cars behind him waiting to overtake.....i sat back another 30 yds out slightly ...i reasoned i could see ahead better than the two cars and when opportunity arose could quickly close the gap......anyhow next thing irrate artic driver.....could see the 'daf' up close in my wing mirror....temporarily dumbstruck i pull over just as first car starts overtaking deere.....artic steams past ...gets behind 2nd car and they all JUST make it

SO :scratchhead: was i wrong to hang back? should i just gone straight up behind cars?

edit..forgot to say i got airhorns to

That’s the trouble they sit that tight behind you they can’t see any opportunity to pass.I travel a lot with the forage harvester and you can’t even see that they’re behind you. My wife brought a tractor back from the auction Mart the other day and said these daft buggers just won’t pass.

Living next to a very busy dual carriageway, I generally find it's the wagon drivers who flash and let you out and give you room (there are obviously some exceptions) and notice when you are indicating to turn off. The majority of car drivers do not, it has been particularly bad this summer with the higher number of holiday makers who seem to be in their own little world and haven't a clue what is going on around them.

He sounds like a bellend. Not all artic drivers are 'professional'. Bit of a giveaway when he used his horn a minimum 3 times on a journey. I'd have been lucky to use the horn 3 times in 6 months on an artic.

Don’t let it worry you. I’ve had 2 incidents with moron artic drivers past year. One straw lorry sat on my bumper for a fair few miles then crossed double white lines on a blind corner to overtake me before pulling off a few miles later, I was doing 55. And a rough looking scania v8 with moody transport stickers all over it refusing to let anyone merge into right hand turn lane when the left hand lane had been closed because of an accident. It was comical how emotional he was getting bless him. There’s morons in all walks of life the trick is not to let them drag you down bud

Father in low had a bit of trick when in his old land rover doing about 40 so big artic right up his arse . so waited until the steepest part of the hill then slow down to about 10 miles a hour until driver was bouncing around in his cab then but his foot down and leave him sitting.was a long time ago
