Waste cooking and other oils in fuel

I seem to remember not long ago the cheap fuel industry , which the supermarkets buy from, hit on a wheeze of using a lot of waste oil , fat etc. Then it caused issues with cars breaking down and the supermarkets banned it.
So next they dumped it on the carrot crunchers, after all they would never guess why the tractor was not performing, but they were called out again
Now they have the answer, put it in the jet fuel, call it green, what could ever go wrong?

Will it be going into the new fuel aimed at construction since they lose red in April 22.
Or is it based on palm oil etc

HVO is pretty posh and actually higher quality than diesel from what I have read.

could they not just put it in ships. I thought they ran on fairly course stuff anyway

For aviation though it has to be competent free of water else Ice crystals block the fuel lines.
