Maybe the bags go a bit porous.

Once the bag is gone then your expansion vessel is not doing it’s job, the idea is a pocket of air behind the bag is compressed by water pressure to supply some water next time you open the tap to stop the pump having to cycle for short bursts

Yes I think with ours it maybe rust in the pump as it is definitely more noisy than it used to be. What do you think is the life expectancy of the pumps.

I would hazard a guess that the motor will go before the pump really. You’ll see the rusty colour in your water if it’s quite bad

It is a bit rusty at times until we have run the tap a bit.

Well I can see that one going down very well just as I’m taking the roasties out of the oven and preparing the gravy on Christmas day I’ll just put my overalls on to pop out to change the pump so that we can flush the loo and fill the kettle!!!!

Be better just you going and changing the pump than sending the mother in law and the kids to go off to the stream with buckets
