Yamaha 350 grizzly, we’ve managed to get water in the fuel tank and now she won’t start. Turns over but won’t fire up.
So far- all fuel drained out of tank and up to carburettor
tanks been taken off and cleaned and replaced,
New clean fuel in
Spark plug is sparking
Heated spark plug and used some easy start to give it some life but still no joy….
what next?
Many thanks 🙏

You will need to drain the carb. The carb should have a drain-plug at the bottom, remove it and let the water runout. Once empty, switch the fuel on and let it flood out of the drain plug hole.

Refit the drain plug, remove the spark plug and spin it over on the starter to draw fuel to the cylinder. Refit the spark plug and it should start OK.

all E10 Petrol has water of some sort in it that wont help if left for a while
Buy some higher grade Petrol thats E5 ie BP ultimate & run a couple of tanks of that thru it after it will do it no harm
I use nothing but that in my chainsaw now as its sat for a while at times. Zero issues.

Rain water had gone down the Jerry can spout without realising so the bike has been running and used with water in the system .
carb has been drained through the screw shown in picture .

Could it be doing something to knacker a spark plug? As we’ve just had it running 20minutes starting and stopping it numerous times , took it for a quick spin and now it won’t start again, seems like when it was put in reverse it killed it and started spluttering and now dead again …. 🤔🤦

Mmm, faulty/worn reverse sensor causing rev limiter to stick on and then flooding?

Daughters grizzly 125 doesn't start until it's in neutral and the switch sticks sometimes. Maybe yours is doing the same

New spark plug and she fired up first turn….. not sure what was wrong with this plug as it was sparking ect…. image.jpg

Going by my experience and checking some motorbike forums there's been a lot of poor NGK spark plugs on the market. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good,

sounds like theres still water in there somewhere . might be dirt in there (carb) as well need a good strip and clean
is there an inline filter in the tank to carb pipe ?

I've just had my twenty year old Honda in for a full dealer service as it wouldn't start. Diagnosis: crud in the carb, so it was stripped and cleaned and the tank drained.
Now starts and runs like the day it was new. If only car servicing was as cheap.
