Water meters

I’m just towards the end of a project to improve the farms water supply; I’ve built a shed to house a couple of 5m3 tanks (its a private water supply). After the manifolds, I’ll end up with 6x32mm alkethene pipes heading off to the various sheds, field troughs, houses etc.
I thought it would be nice to have some sort of water meter on each of the six pipes mainly because at times it ‘feels’ like we’re using too much water (pump from spring is on more than I expect) and it would be nice to have a steer on what’s going where. Basic meters would be best, ideally ones that could be reset (rather than having to calculate usage from two readings over time). Also I suppose they should be ok for drinking water, or someone will be along to hit me with a big stick sooner or later...
Is that sort of thing available (for a reasonable price), and if so where?
Thanks

Might be cheaper just to use a normal water meter. there is an app I have on my iphone that calculates daily usage and a little graph to show spikes which is handy. I compare the main and two on farm meters to check for leaks etc.

Water meters with an electronic output are available so a smart person could rig up their own data logger now.

I hoped someone would pick up on that.

Agreed, and some water companies (Thames/Anglian) are already fitting them and have been for a while.

It's the "smart person" bit that's the trouble at the moment - people who need water meters rarely need that feature enough to outweigh the extra effort/cost.
